General John A. Gordon Chairman
General (Ret.) Gordon recently served in the White House as the President’s Homeland Security Advisor, the Deputy National Security Advisor for Counter Terrorism and the National Director for Counter Terrorism. Prior to joining the White House team, he was the first administrator of the National Nuclear Security Administration and Undersecretary of Energy. As an Air Force four-star general, he was the Deputy Director of Central Intelligence. His thirty-two year Air Force career included significant concentration on research and development, strategic planning, missile and space operations, inter-governmental operations and international negotiations. He holds a BS degree in Physics from the University of MI, a MS in Physics from the US Naval Postgraduate School, and a MA (management) from Highlands University.
Professor Jerome Friedman
Professor Friedman of the Physics Department of MIT is an experimental particle physicist whose research has included studies of particle structure and interactions with high energy electrons, neutrinos, and hadrons. For his experimental discovery of the quark, he received the W.H.K. Panofsky Prize in 1989 and was co-recipient of the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1990. He has been a member of numerous government, university and professional advisory committees including President of the American Physical Society. He holds AB, MS and PhD degrees in Physics from the University of Chicago.
Dr. Richard Lanza
Dr. Lanza is a Senior Research Scientist in Nuclear Engineering at MIT with extensive experience in security issues concerning airports and cargo. He has served on numerous evaluation panels in these areas for the DOE, the DOD, the FAA, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the National Academy of Sciences. He has over 100 publications in the area of nuclear detection and inspection technology. He holds a PhD in Physics from the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Bruce Tarter
Dr. Tarter was most recently the eighth director to lead Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and has spent most of his career at the Laboratory. He is a theoretical physicist by training and has headed many critical committees concerning Livermore’s science and policy priorities. He is a Fellow of the American Physical Society and received the Roosevelts Gold Medal award for Science. He holds a B.S. in Physics from MIT and a PhD in Physics from Cornell University.
Mr. Theodore G. Johnson
Mr. Johnson is a retired senior vice president of Digital Equipment Corporation. He spent most of his 25 years with the company as the Sr. VP of Sales and Service worldwide, starting the company as the 10th employee and first sales engineer. His last position at the company was Sr. VP of Corporate Marketing. He was the company representative to CBEMA, the computer industry trade association. He has been active since then as a private investor, primarily in high technology firms, and has served on a number of both private and public boards. He holds a BS in Engineering from Caltech and a MBA from Harvard Business School.
