SNAR ATD Phase IV Award - Passport Systems, Inc. Prime Contract No. HSHQDC-08-C-00124N. Billerica, Mass., July 1, 2011 -- Passport Systems, Inc. has completed the Characterization Readiness Review (CRR) phase of their Advanced Technology Demonstration (ATD) for the Shielded Nuclear Alarm Resolution (SNAR) Program under its current contract with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Domestic Nuclear Detection Office (DHS/DNDO). Under the SNAR ATD program, Passport Systems is developing a prototype scanner for DHS/DNDO based on its Effective Z in 3 Dimensions (EZ-3D™), Prompt Neutrons from Photo-fission (PNPF), and Nuclear Resonance Fluorescence (NRF) technologies. As a result of the completion of the CRR phase, DHS/DNDO has awarded Passport an $800k contract option to conduct the Test and Evaluation (T&E) phase of the program. Dr. Robert J. Ledoux, President of Passport Systems, stated, “We take pride in achieving this significant milestone and look forward to performing the T&E phase of the program under our contract with DHS/DNDO.” Passport Systems is developing next generation scanner solutions to be deployed at air and sea ports, border crossings and other key points in the global supply chain to non-intrusively and accurately inspect cargo without impeding the flow of commerce.
