Passport Systems Names Gustavo Bottan Vice President of Business Development; Accomplished International Sales and Marketing Expert Joins Port Security Company Acton, Mass. — Aug. 15, 2005 – Passport Systems, Inc., a developer of advanced cargo inspection scanners, today named Gustavo L. Bottan as the company's Vice President of Business Development. Bottan brings nearly 30 years of international sales experience and a proven track record of increasing revenue and developing new business opportunities to Passport Systems. Bottan will be responsible for expanding the company's patented nuclear resonance fluorescence imaging (NRFI) technology to ports of transit throughout the world. Gustavo Bottan comes to Passport Systems from Inovar Partnerships, a management and development consulting firm he founded in 1998. At Inovar, Bottan oversaw global client relations, was responsible for cultivating international alliances and helped clients design and implement business development strategies. In this role, he worked on several projects involving management and technology deployment for the US Navy, among which was a software solution for emergency and crisis management developed by his company. Before Inovar, Bottan served as the corporate director of U.S.-based operations at Siemens Nixdorf. In that capacity, Bottan directed the company's strategic planning and execution, merger and acquisition support, and marketing development efforts, including a new venture in the area of software security. Prior to his tenure at Siemens Nixdorf, Bottan held various executive sales and marketing positions in Europe, Latin America and the U.S. for Ingersoll-Rand and Food Machinery Corporation. Bottan earned a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial engineering from the University of Buenos Aires in 1976 and a master's degree in business administration from MIT in 1996.
