Billerica, Mass. — September, 22 2008 – Passport Systems, Inc., a developer of advanced cargo inspection scanning technology, today named Dr. James Costales as Vice President of Engineering.  Mr. Costales comes to Passport Systems with over 15 years of experience developing and integrating medical devices and bioinformatics systems. Having held senior management positions in large corporations as well as startups, he has a proven track record of developing technology into products. Prior to joining Passport Systems, Mr. Costales led the software development for a new product platform at Philips Healthcare.  He holds an A.B. (Physics) degree from UC Berkeley and a PhD (Physics) degree from MIT.
